I can't believe your still discussing this and haven't pulled the codes.

Pal, in my honest opinion, this whole thing is out of your league.

everybody thinks they look cool driving around in a diesel and making it smoke. most dont realize just how much there is to keep one running. and how expensive it can be. some of these trucks can be overwhelming.

True that

There's only a few where you just put fuel in and run it

Guy at works 5.9 cummins is a nightmare. He bought it with a cheap short arm 6'' lift and 37s. He has pretty well rebuilt the whole front end, and it still wanders. New engine, New injectors, new water pump, new dual disk clutch, new batteries, lift pump. Hes got like $30k into it just in repairs. I just had a new tranny put into my 6.7 cummins , all covered under warranty thankfully. I haven't asked him, but I feel like he is the type of diesel owner that doesn't have any gauges to know exactly how his truck is actually running.

They all have negative points, even the cummins.

an inline will always be more reliable, which is why its used in dozers, semi tractors, farm tractors, etc.

any v-type engine design will always have less longevity than an inline. 300k is just broken in for an inline vs the last leg for a vtype motor.
