Do you know what a "guide coat" is?

If you don't you should really use that technique next time.

I was going to post this earlier, but I didn't want to come off like a dick.

Whenever you block a car, to make it straight, especially with black....

Spray a light layer of flat (contrasting to the material you're sanding) spray paint.

It should look like someone sprinkled pepper all over your car.

Then when you block the guide coat will easily identify the areas that still need attention.

Otherwise, you'll just make lots of shiny dents.

Sweet project though!

Apoligies.

I hate coming off as "that guy"...You know how it is.

But for that spot.

Get a nice straight paint stick as your block.

And some 800 grit wet sandpaper.

Sand the problem areas to remove the clear (or sheen, if you're using a single stage). Get rid of the shiny.

Then take some flat white spray paint and lightly guide coat the area (hold the can about 2 feet away from the panel. You want the paint to basically fall onto the car, you're not applying it by force)

Then in about 10 minutes, once it has flashed, proceed to block the car. Make sure you are using your paint stick, and sand ONLY IN X patterns. +45 and -45.

Where the panel is straight (dictated by your block) the guide coat will easily be removed.

Where you break through...That's clearly a crown, and must be massaged down.

And where the guide coat remains, well....Those are your lows.

Whenever a dent happens, the metal is always stretched, creating not only a low spot, but an area of stretched high spots as well. Those must be massaged down before you try to work the dent.

Always work the metal in the reverse of how the dent occurred.

I replaced that and the car was running just fine it after a while of driving i came to a stop and my car damn near maxed out the temp gauge due to the fact that one of my radiator hoses busted....right when i fix my issue another occurs. :wallbash:

Yep.. welcome to old car ownership.

Don't let it overheat too much, that 350 will split like a siv.
