Why would a better handling car be safer at all in a day to day drive? There are situations where both are safer... Sometimes you need speed to get out of a sticky situation, sometimes you need handling.

IMO if you're talking about safety you should just be comparing crash test ratings...

Well I wasn't really, just trying to point out how useless a GREAT handling car is as a daily driver, if you only bought it for handling that is. Just trying to get the kid to admit he bought his car to look cool..

And I see no problem with buying a car for the looks, but don't try and defend the performance of it, when you aren't really ever going to use it for what it excels at.

I have no problem admitting that I love how my car looks, not to "look cool"....Sorry, but I'm a little old for high school thought processes. Cars are not a hobby of mine, thus I don't NEED a fast car. Like I've said, there is more to performance than starlight line acceleration....

You have no idea if I will use my car for what it "excels at." What an ignorant comment.

you ever going to do autox? If not you won't be using the car for what it excels at, you won't be pushing that car to it's limit on the street that's for sure.

And you saying cars are not a hobby of yours also shows you will never use that suspension near it's limit, so you bought the car for the handling is just funny.

From now on just say you got the car for it's looks as a nice looking daily, instead of being so butthurt when people put it down.

I have a fiat 500 as my daily. Extremely girly, and gay looking looks like a show, but I get 40 MPG with the ac on.

So does a honda civic from the early 90's.

You can push a cars performance outside of a track, it just won't be as safe. I have 1500 miles on my car and currently have no desire to push it with it being so new.

Honestly, you are coming up with the most ridiculous arguments.

Listen, and read carefully.

I didn't purchase the car because it handles well. I purchased the car for these reasons:

I enjoy SMALL cars. <----the MOST important factor to me
The way it looks
I could afford the price
Better MPG than my previous car, Celica GT

The "handling" and it being a "driver's car" is only icing on the cake and I enjoy what the BRZ stands for

I have nothing against the car you drive. I see nothing wrong with wanting good MPG as a dd.

No I didn't

I didn't create this thread, so I didn't name the thread "FRS #1 Car Under 25k"
