well than this is quite odd . i do have two lines going from the rad to the trans, while under there though i noticed oil all over the place, on the pan, on the trans, everywhere. checked the fluids in it and sure enough its a quart low on oil, and the trans fluid is just about empty. it has a new gasket on the trans pan, i tripple checked to make sure it was full before i drove it. heated it up let it cool checked while running ect. but it seems like im losing fluids someplace. but both oil and trans fluid? at least i know its not the head i guess. any ideas?? maybe the oil pan gasket is going out. there is a little puddle also of what im guessing is either oil or tranny fluid where the car was setting this morning before the wife drove it.

i just flushed the trans on friday, new filter, cleaned it out, new atf+4 fluid  5 quarts of fluid in it.

there is pretty easily identifiable distinction between motor oil and trans fluid.... smell it or just look at it, your trans fluid should be red especially if you just changed it... When you say "flush" do you mean you just drained the pan and filled it with new fluid? if you indeed flushed the trans it would need a lot more than 5 quarts of fluid.... but if you're puking a bunch of fluid you may have already found your problem hehe

More than likely the pan gasket.. I have never had a problem but have seen tons of others have the same issue. Once they fuck up its pretty much impossible to get it to stop leaking without machining the case, new pan, & gasket.

i know the trans pan gasket is fine. i hit with a wire wheel when i had it off to clean it all up before i put on the new gasket. bleh i suppose its worth a try but the pan looked fine to me. one thing i found kind of funny was there was oil on the oil filter when i was looking. i checked it out and its fine. nice and snug but not to snug ect ect. the drain plug is nice and tight on the oil pan. the head looks a little bit wet though around where you fill it but nothing that really stands out as shocking. im more worried about the trans issue lol. i cant afford a new trans right now. im supposed to be getting my lq4 next month not buying the wife a new trans lol

side note it did come with 2 gaskets when i bought the filter. i only put one on, does it need 2?? i thought it was just for a diffrent kind of pan that it might have

if it is indeed the pan gkasket, no matter what material the pan gasket you get is, i usually still use some rtv on both sides of the gasket to ensure a good leak free seal. also do you know exactly which trans you have? the slipping is still odd.....makes me think you may have one of the non chrysler transmissions that requires a dex III and NOT atf +4 which would for sure cause slipping, i know for a fact the AW4 trans is not chrysler but not completely aware of all the different trans they are using in jeeps these days

if u doubled up the pan gasket you will have issues, I would pop the pan off, clean it real nice, put ultra copper on both side's of the gasket and put the pan back on and check If it still leaks

use a rag and wipe everything down, run it again and see where its coming from, easiest way
but as far as the slipping is going, are you sure you used the right fluid?
if your not sure what trans you have it should be stamped on a tag right on the tranny, if not look in your door jamb for codes
