Plan on injectors in the next year or two especially if this is an oil field truck that idles all the time.

You can make 500whp with stock size injectors and a HE351 off an 05+. EFI live isn't available for 03/04's.  Knowing that get a smarty jr and be done with it.  I think the 03's have an external lift pump that is prone to failure.

I just crossed 100k mi on my 06 and some dodge related things are starting to fall apart. The cummins is strong though.

I never did ask what he does. So yea, he has injectors in it already. I want bigger. and smarty is the plan :)
he was on the right track with everything, saved me a lot of $, but i want to go in a slightly different direction.

If it already has aftermarket injectors in it make sure you find out what size they are. What I was saying is stock injectors are big enough to make 500whp. The bigger you go the worse the fuel mileage and the harder it is to keep the EGT down. It will cause you to need a bigger turbo to clean it up then you get into compounds etc etc. It spirals out of control.

if you dont know anything about the injectors pull them and have exergy flow them.

we get harsh winters and summers. not uncommon to get +40 C outside in the summer time, or 8 feet of snow in the winter.. past few years been shitty, but heh

I know enough to know what i want. maybe i wont even upgrade these injectors just run em till they go, and go from there.
the bonus thing is, he put a lot into it already, and basically got pushed into selling it cuz of work. So Im pretty much picking up where he left off, and doing a few things my way.

That is good. If the person before you did good work it saves you money. It can be a headache if they dont. 500whp isnt too difficult and can be reliable.

yup. the 6" bds with steering box upgrade, kms for the year and price is what got me. Ive seriously been on the look out every 2 days on kijjii for past 5-6 months atleast. talked it over with the old lady and we're balls to the wall with this truck.

it has been for sale for awhile now, but nothing more than tire kickers and some kid that was in high school came to look at it he started getting frustrated, then the price started lowering :)

That is an expensive lift. The steering box upgrade is a plus. Make sure you buy E load range tires. D's wobble mid corner. Expect the front end to need some attention unless it has recently been done.

No front end done recently, atleast not by him in past 2 years. I can accept that though. Ive owned and bagged the shit out of dodges before. catch it before its completly fucked and fucks other shit up. maintenance over repairs has come pretty clear to me the past year or so. Doesnt mean ive slowd down any, im just always looking :D

I was a chevy kid growing up, my first truck ended up being a 94 dakota 318 4x4. thing was fucking bullet proof, a 18 year old kid did just about anything thats expected of me growing up a smaller town ++++ some ( 120k people or so )
2 tons of scrap in the box several times, even more a few times all for dat beer money
i shit all over quite a few of my friends chevy 350s and 302 fords - yeea buddy, huge motor for such a light frame
front end was fucked, welded my idler arm to the frame cuz i broke the bolts
ditched it way to many times to count
cut the cat out, and remove the entire exhaust system. Slapped a cherry bomb where the cat was and never touched it again.
best part was i pulled a favor from one of my dads friends that works at chrysler, and paid $500 for it, some body work and a windshield was on the road lol

yes i reminisce >.>

made me want more dodge :)

You will enjoy the cummins. You have to respect it though. It can break like anything else, then it will break you. These things can get expensive quick.
