Thanks. That actually helps a lot.
It'd make it to where later on I could tear into an s14
I am trying to avoid turbo to be honest
I've heard it can diminish you in certain ways if you aren't careful so not my first pick starting out obv
I have been told mostly to drop the mustang 5.0 in it but all videos of people driving it slide out really bad

Hmm.. I may tweak with the tires and suspension on it but other than that keep it stock for the most part

Eh...Thats just always gonna be the argument with anything when it comes to cars.. Boost Vs Na.
There really isnt a thing of having to much power, most people who put v8s in them and keep sliding out either are new at it or just not use to the power change from what they had before. alot of drifting is foot work and throttle control if you're sideways basically dumbed down and you want to go more sideways you give it more gas, if you wanna straightin back out alittle you let off alittle or play with it ( not sure the correct term). and the rest is hands.
and with most boosted cars once your diggin into it you really dont have to worry about it being much different from a NA car, If you're already in boost the power is there.
The only thing i dont like about my current set up is i went alittle to big of a turbo imo, i have alot of boost lag. But i also DD mine more than anything. if i was gonna take it sideways most of the time i'd go witha smaller turbo so it'd spool faster

But with that being said, if i had the extra money to swap out my current set up with a Ls1 i'd do it in a heart beat. +1 for power, +1 for sounding nasty.

I actually knew that from just driving myself honestly
the last part
turbo I have heard that a lot as well
hurts on entry helps on exit of turns
I was hoping for middle ground =p
That's what I figured but I also didn't want to drop that right away like I said
I'd really like to get a nice engine for an s14 and change out the pistons and everything
I love adding new things and turning a used motor to nearly new
It's a great feeling
and can make it better that way

Any tips on tires or suspension?

I'll have to check s13 out a bit more
I know it's a little less advanced than s14 so requires more skills but I'd like that
and look at some better turning things

Suspension wise i personally like Power by Max but some people like megans ect ect, alot of people around here just buy the $500 ones off *** lol. Tire wise hmm, theres alot of options and opinions there, starting out i wouldnt look to much into that, just invest in some drift spare rims for the back, because you'll eat through them pretty quick.
S13s and S14s are pretty much almost the same thing, s14 has newer looks, different body style, its a few hundred pounds lighter than a s13, and the Ka that comes in it has different cams than the one that comes in the s13.
I only suggested s13 because they are typically cheaper than s14s. But for going sideways they'll each do them the exact same imo, I've owned 1x s14 and 3x 13s. they all went sideways the same, the s14 made me feel like i was sitting down lower i guess, maybe the hood was longer. Probably just in my head.

It's just when I read the s14 was like the s13 on steroids
It just did everything better
turned the same and everything but made everything easier and faster.

I heard about megans. I want one that gives me the best for price same as the car
I don't expect the s13 to blow everyone off a course
I want it to corner smoothly and fluidly like I plan to learn to do it.
I see so many people who go in great but come out sketchy.

I mostly wondered grip wise what would be better
I thought about good grip ones on front since you get traction from it while you get power from back
I put massive thought into EVERYTHING.
I can't help it, technique, equipment, timing, speed, rpm's
I will have to figure everything out with feeling the car more on corners when racing
I know I need to wait for it due to personal

I seriously appreciate the help, man.

WHAT!??!
I'd take it to the next step and put a real pig in there with me or something like that. :P
nice ride though seems fairly underpowered or he could have been going slower being the uniform.
I want a bigger engine than my engine
I'm hoping for atleast a 2.0 or 2.5 at least.. think those come with 2.0 and 1.8 if I remember
I studied them quite a bit. I can always swap it out of course..

miata.

I have put thought to it but I've heard it's the not as good version of the sx's
which I know how to work on cars fairly well so I'd rather just piece together an sx

sx's are nice, i own a 94 miata personally.
buddy of mine has a s13 and a miata.
ive never driven the s13 but he says between the 2 the miata feels so much more stable than the s13 while trying to get sideways.

the miata would for sure need to be boosted and or swapped for power.
while you can get sideways with it being stock... trying to hold it is almost impossible because of lack of power.
miata is also really cheap for a beater, much more disposable than an s13.

not trying to put down s13's or anything they are really nice still.

Yeah sounds like thr miata is more of the starter car while the sxs are the ones after.. depending if you want more of a challenge from going sideways comparison.
I will look into them. I know a ton about s13s and s14s
I may testdrive a few just to see acceleration and everything withour actually drifting ofc to see which feels more comfortable
Do you drift in it? I'm curious about what tou did to make it better ro drift.
