You are convinced wide mud tires are better for your every day winter driver !!! are you fucking kidding me ???
Seriously man this is common knowldge and been so for years. I can understand if your 17 and only seen one winter. But try some 10.5s or somehing stop being a nieve son of a bitch.
Fact of the matter is hes going to be driving in the mountins, that shit is dangerous regardless, dont be stupid about it and run tsl's unless you want to ditch it.

Im done arguing this, learn for your self or dont argue

no use, Koj will be Koj

greater surface area = more stability/traction

I don't know how you don't understand that, and im not saying go get 20 inch wide tires or something along that line

anything wider then 14inch is over kill

and no its not my first/only winter, I have been going up to the snow and snow wheeling since I was 16, aka 10 years now

But really though, its been common knowledge that skinner tires are by far superior to wide bulky tires

If there is a road underneath your right.

If it's like 10 feet of snow then you want to float like koj is saying.

i know nothing about snow driving and nor have i ever seen snow. but if i remember correctly the episode of top gear for example when they were driving in the north pole i believe that the tyres on that hilux were like balloons.

However wider tyres are much better for dry roads. and quite frequently i have seen the difference from driving from a 165 wide tyre to a 215 wide tyre the 215 is a much better gripper
