thanks for all the replies. i got the job so i will have influx of $ coming in, and I would like to get one of these coupes. I am leaning toward audi tt b/c of AWD, but its going to be subject to what is in the market at the time. second choice is the g35. i am looking at the 50-80k milage range, and I will not be buying the TT unless the timing belt has been changed with proof

Stay away from the TT, anyone you get for 10k isn't worth buying. The G35 is doable, but based on what you seem to know about cars I wouldn't. Seriously, just buy the fucking civic. Trying to buy nicer cars on a budget is never a good idea unless you know exactly what you are getting in to.

mmm im at like a 7/10 on car knowledge, and the civic is still in the back of my mind. I prob will be closer to 12k, its only a few months of work @ that price. i really would like the audi tt b/c my girlfriend likes the car too and its kind of a mutual thing

I bought a van for the wife because she wanted one. The cracked the head a year later. Now I'm getting what I wanted to get her the first time around. A SUV, don't buy a car just because your gf wants one lol. Just get a tdi hertz and roll with 40+ mpg and decent looks

you could possibly find a nice Acura RSX Type-S for around that price (maybe a bit more). with a bit of work/mod they can get pretty quick and extremely reliable.

You made this thread, you are not a 7/10 lol. The build quality on audis and vws was brutal for those years.

Overall they are just shitty cars, especially the higher into the mileage you get... There's a reason their all cheap as shit

Not to mention when I think Audi TT I think girl car, probably why your girl likes it lol

We all want something sporty and cheap but the reality is that those two do not go hand in hand. Best Advice we can give you is to go for something with low mileage that's reliable (IE: civic or jetta) then buy something sporty down the line after you save up
