yea i noticed some surface rust, is there anything i can do to prevent further rust? i dont plan to change my catback for now

I had a cheapo exhaust tip on my Saturn, it surface rusted over and I got alot of it off with brake cleaner surprisingly. Just spray some of that on there and wipe it off with a rag. Use a fine brillo pad to clean it off if that doesn't work.

i also read that steel wool + elbow grease (lots of it) + any metal polish will do a pretty good job on the rust spots

More or less, but it isn't a permanent fix. Like I said, later on down the road get a nicer exhaust system for it.

just bought the car Cash so ill have to go easy on mods for the next months lol
