Hellaflush is one of the worst "cultures" imo. Taking performance cars (and others) and doing one of the worst mods for performance I can think of short of removing the engine entirely.

Its sad when you see cars built to put down 400+ HP on tilted, stretched, skinny tires.

Anyone who modifies their car is looking to be different from the masses, I'm sure we can all agree with that. Why some have the option to choose a good platform others do not, this makes many (topically lower income?) have the mindset of "work with what you got" because they aren't in a position to choose. The hellaflush thing ill get to in a second. First ill address the mods; most people who are money conscious want to get the most bang for their buck right? And what's going to get you to stand out more than some chrome wheels or a big wing? And take into account of how old some of these cars are, wings/body kits/ under glow etc. were all the craze when the first couple fast and the furious movies debuted! It's a whole other generation.

Style has changed, and will continue to change, it's no different than when baggy pants use to be "the thing" but now it's all about skinny jeans. This kinda leads me to hellaflush cars. Hellaflush is obviously a ploy to stand out, what obnoxious body kits were in 2001- are what the hellaflush scene is today, and I'm not bashing, I respect many who pay close attention to detail when trying to achieve a certain look. Hellaflush isn't so much about the street racing of yesteryears because many know their car is not a rocket ship, and to become one would mean dumper huge amounts of cash into mods they can't afford. So with money they have, they dump into suspension and wheels and all of a sudden they are apart of this subculture, no need to pump out 200hp/Litre with a stripped interior to be "apart of something".
