I don't think this is correct at all. I've been driving for 5 years now with no problems. Just have to pay attention and not drive like an idiot.

True, but the problem is he's looking to buy a ~300 hp car (assuming its turbo'd) for his first car. Waaaay to much power for a beginner driving in my opinion. But then again it all comes down to if you're not an idiot or not.
At that age, he'll most likely be looking to show off his "new fast car" to his friends.

How do i know this? I'm 17. 90% of all teens think the same. We want there a super nice car to show off OR a super fast car. Lol

Overpriced at over 10k. For that you can easily get a much better car w/ the same HP (or better).

My first car was a 300 HP camaro.. It's not the car its the maturity of the driver, My second car was also a 300hp formula(only accident was some 1 hit me from behind). then a 300hp neon, then a 300hp corvette etc etc. Whether someone has a nice car or shitty car they will act like a moron regardless, I had plenty of friends with golfs civics etc in highschool that did the stupidest shit ever. Having a nice first car should usually teach you respect more than anything else. If I had a shit first car I am sure I would have joined in with the others doing the absurdly stupid stuff they did.

Pretty awesome for a show car...but for everyday street use it's waaaay too flashy and distracting which may cause other driver's to focus their attention on something other than driving their OWN car.

I can push 500 on my stock internals, doesnt mean I do...
