just wondering when did anyone ever say that hondas where fast on a drag strip?

and to LSD, WTF man. i always thought u were a true enthusiast and here u are bitching and complaining about guys with hondas wanting to run the 1/4 mile like the 1/4 mile exclusively belongs to the muscle guys and no one else can race there.

You would have to be one of the people in the stands that paid money, or better yet one of the people waiting in line in the staging lanes to understand. They ruin the experience for EVERYONE else. It's not about muscle or import. It's the fact that they are ignorant when it comes to how a track runs and they make everyone wait that much longer.

On thursday night test and tune sessions I can get in 5 or 6 runs before they close. When the ricers decide to turn out (its all or nothing) I usually get 2 or 3. I paid good money to run my car. When they have to dry the staging area 5 times (about an hour wasted) because FWD fail cars drag water on it people get pissed off.

The drag strip is a prepped track with an extremely accurate timing system. It was built for race cars. They have street car nights because there is a demand for it. You don't need to run at a track unless you can't drive your car to its potential on the street. These hondas run the same thing wide open on the street as a full size truck. They don't need a prepped track. Fine, you want to see what your car runs. That's cool. When you make 4 passes a night every night the track is open and you run the same 15 second time it gets old. There are people out there at the test and tune trying to dial their cars in so they can win actual bracket races that pay actual money. Lots of money. They don't like it when people dick around and waste time.

i can understand this, but id have to think its more the tracks fault than the ricers.

for one if the track would explain how things work to them mb they would be a bit more efficient, if they still cant run right after explanation of rules and such then dont allow them back. as for the water thing i have no idea and will take your word for it.

once agian i think fault lies with the track, if they would separate the the guys just running for fun and the guys trying to make money on diff days it seesm that would be no prob. say fun time on wed night and real practice and tune on thur night. i seriously coubt the track is occupied all 7 dasy a week all day and at night. im sure theu could work something out.

do the track officials even know the serious gys are getting upset cuz ppl just having fun are taking up practice time.

in any case its not 100% the ricers fault. im sure there are muscle guys too that are just having fun and taking up practice time. souds to me like the track needs to work out a better schedule.

edit: everyone has the right to run and work on their time and skill weather they run a 16 or a 6, if the track cant accomidate this then they need to change something. supply and demand.

You have some good points but they don't work in the real world. The track is open Thursday nights from 7-11 for test and tune and Saturday for test and tune 1-5. They have employees to pay and they can't afford to open the track another night just for the street car guys. Yes they know the bracket racers hate it. They are seperated. There is a street car lane and a drag car lane. Drag cars run 1/8th mile and street cars run the 1/4 mile. They run through a certain number of cars and switch lanes.

They can explain it all they want. The guys are grown men. If they don't do what their told what can you do? If you kick them out they will bad mouth the track and you will lose customers to the other track.

any race track is a very serious place where ppl can get killed or seriously injured. there are rules to protect ppl for this reason, if ppl cant follow the rules they should be banned no questions asked they are putting ppls lives at risk. it doesnt matter what rule they brake either this argument can be used legally to ban anyone from any dangerous place for braking any rule. they archive this by showing they they broke the rule and because they broke the rule they are likely to break a more serious rule and injure someone. and by making anyone that races sign a waiver.

anyway i still think the track is more responsible. they seem to be doing their best, mb once the economy gets better and more pl get back into hobbies the track will have the income to open a few more days a week.
