i dont have anything id throw on the 1/8th.

i could put my stock f-150 on there, and sadly it would beat every honda kid that runs down there against me but why? its embarressing to everyone at the track, no one came to see slow vechiles run.

i wouldnt of even put those two civics i built on a track because at best they would run a 13.1 on street tires/pump gas. thats still very slow for how much money went into them.

...you obviously didn't build them for shit, assuming you're saying 13.1 in the 1/8th...a built n/a b18c can run in the 14's in the 1/4...

You realize that the eighth mile is ~ 2/3rd's of your 1/4 mile time right?

10-13 seconds in the 1/8th is perfect for a 15-20 second 1/4 mile.  That's about what all of them do.  The faster N/A ones run heads up with bone stock full size chevy pickups and tahoe's.  I saw a fucking Yukon XL with 24"s, a huge system, TV screens, and a cooler full of beer beat Honda "Race car."  The black guy driving had a blunt in his mouth and had never staged a car before in his life.  It's fucking sad.  Shit like that doesn't belong on a drag strip.

I agree with you LSD, not having them around is great.  On the nights when they all decide to show up people do nothing but talk trash while they come out of the staging lanes (we can stand right beside the water box on the outside of the wall almost all the way up to the start line) because they drive through the water box on street tires and start doing their "burnout" while they are still standing in the water.  The 1 wheel that spins slings water all up inside the fender well and it drips back down onto the ground as they come up to the start line.  The other wheel that just sits there and stares at you tracks water up to the start.  Then they spin off the line through 2nd gear to a blazing 5 second 60 foot time after a 3 second R/T.  It's ridiculous.  The first 5 or 6 RWD guys that come up behind the rice get screwed because there are 2 perfectly straight wet lines coming out of the water box right into the start of the groove.  That just isn't safe when you are talking about guys running 800rwhp in a full weight car.  If it hooks off the line it will probably spin on the 1-2 shift or when the second kit comes on.  By then you are going waaaay too fast to have the car snapping loose on you.

Learn how to stage.  Learn how to avoid the water.  Learn how to do a proper burnout (this goes for the RWD guys driving mustangs and 300ZX's as well).  If you can't figure that shit out keep your ass planted in the bleachers.

Proper burnout:  Roll through the water, drive around and back the back tires in if you can, spin them over 2 or 3 revolutions and pull forward OUT of the WATER.  Rev, dump, stab, hold for 5-7 seconds on drag radials and 3-5 seconds on slicks or until you see thick white smoke and the tires get sticky enough to load the engine.  You will be able to feel this.  Release the brake and roll forward until the tires grab.  You will hear it squeal if they are at the right temp.

Listen to my car.  Notice how it spins freely until the water is gone and the tires get hot?  It starts smoking and the pitch of the engine changes dramatically.  That means they are sticky.  My foot doesn't change position until you hear it start to bog when the tires get sticky and then I add more throttle and roll out.

It's really loud the first few seconds as a drag bike makes a pass.  Turn it up nice and loud around 5-6 seconds in.

what?

you clearly have no idea what im trying to say. running slow vechiles on a race track is retarded, embarressing, and waste everyones time. it does nothing but make people upset or give them a bathroom break.

And that is the problem with Ricers. They don't want to listen to anyone even if they are giving out FREE good info.

As for why camaros and shit don't run the full 1/4... lots of tracks are only 1/8th mile. Then there are tracks like my home track that doesn't allow anything that traps higher than 155 to run the 1/4 because there isn't enough shut down room. There may be plenty of room when you trap 90mph in your honda but things start getting very sketchy after 130. Outlaw 10.5 cars run 150+ in the 1/8th mile. There is no way they could run the full 1/4 at my track. They would be out in the middle of a cornfield by the time they stopped flipping.

Also there are less safety requirements for 1/8th mile cars. People that don't want to spend another $15 grand to have an NHRA certified chassis built to shove their BBC in just build 1/8th mile cars.
