sorry my 355 makes more power than your pos late model aluminum garbage. I make more power with 305 heads than you do with your alums in your firesled. my "square" chevy is 1000lbs lighter than your garbage pontiac sled. Lol lmk when good. I can make more power with 300$ than you can for 10 grand.
So let me get this straight... Your 355ci Gen I SBC with a tiny 650cfm Edelbrock carb, Craptastic Iron Phase 6 Bow Tie heads circa 1990 (80's design), and a camshaft with unknown duration and only .600 lift make more than 530hp and will still run pump gas and get 24mpg? And on top of all that your truck weighs 2400lbs with an Iron headed iron block engine and automatic transmission? That is less than a race prepped fox body mustang with an aluminum engine. You must have had a frame built out of unobtanium or something.
You won't win the price debate either. I can throw a $300 cam and springs in an LS1 and make 400whp without touching anything else. Your 355 might barely make that with your aftermarket carb, heads, cam, and intake.
Also, you shouldn't use the word "Race" motor to describe anything with an Edelbrock carb. You take that shit to the track for real and you will be laughed at.
Here are some flow numbers on those Bowtie heads from the 80's:
Lift__Intake__Exhaust
.100___58_______54
.200___119______95
.300___170______128
.400___219______162
.500___240______188
Hmmm Looks like you are about 60cfm short to match up with a set of STOCK CASTING LS6 heads that have a $500 CNC port job on them.
My bet is if you actually DO work at a machine shop you sweep the floor on weekends. Stay small kid, you will learn one day. To JSP, sorry it took so long, I've been busy.
