and yeah, it's easy to tell when my motor is at redline just by the sound.

Yeah because no one uses a shift light to be consistent and race tachs don't have memory recall to show you where you shifted... I shift mainly by engine sound as well but saying the tach is not necessary is stupid. You can't adjust your shift point by 25-50 rpm by sound. Not consistently.

he doesnt own a sports car. so yes, a tech does him no good.
