Social security and medicare are not factored in to my portfolio. It's very unlikely i'll ever see any return on the money i put in either program.

I'm in a pension program right now. If I finish it I should get 5k a month, then if it's still around social security lol.

My projected retirement date for SS is 2057. I don't have that much faith in our govt lol. I don't have a pension but i have a good 401k match program. They match 100% of the first 6% then 50% of the next 5%. So for my 11% contribution they match 8.5% for a total of 19.5%.

That does seem to bad at all. I've been tossing around the idea of a 401k on top of my pension just for securitty purposes. I don't want to be the old guy working at Wal-Mart
