ok here, ill designate one of my paychecks to proving you wrong

ill go out and buy the 92 eg hatch on local craigslist for 700 bucks, replace the head gasket, turbo it, inspect it, insure it and register it...all for under 1500 bucks which isn't quite an entire paycheck for me so i'll be eating steak every night and drinking 20 yr old pinot noir while i rub it in your face as i push 350hp out of my gutted honda hatch raping you on the street :]

i cant believe you think you can do that for $1500 bucks.

a good manifold alone will cost you half of that. fuckin idiots these days.

1500 would be a HUGE maybe....
ofc that cost would NOT include the car itself..
and you would have to find pretty gg deals on used parts.. and more than likely have connections
do all the work and probably the tune yourself if you know how to.
I mean on my 240sx I spent around 600 on it and was making 230 rwhp, but that was with a t25 setup (cheapest on most occasions unless you get an insane t25, I just ended up using a turbo similar to the sr20det's)
So like double the price.. and then add a little bit more to it..
hmm I'd have to price everything out but it might be more than 1500 im sure..
Tune it with megasquirt (christhepirate loves this) - probably like $200-$300 with the sensors etc
probably get a t3/t4 used ofc - Not sure on price, would vary on condition etc, Im gonna guess $150-$300
t3/t4 turbo manifold used ofc - $120 for a pretty good used one, or for one ya gotta piece together
walbro 255lph fuel pump - $100
Bigger Injectors used ofc- $100 more than likely
decent fmic with piping - $100-$150
turbo elbow/downpipe exhaust etc - im gonna say roughly $200 ofc less if you have the stuff to make your exhaust or have somebody do it for you.
Thats about 1k-1.3k right there, but that would be with stock engine.. so like with the extra 200-500 try to upgrade some more stuff that would be needed. I know for the 240sx depending on the year of the engine you would want to use 2 exhaust cams, so like try to find another cam used somewhere.. should be more than like $50 or so
then for the rear at least get a j30 vlsd, like at a junkyard if you can or buy one used from someone.. probably will cost you somewhere between $50-$100
but then you should upgrade your suspension....but that will cost you alot more than 500 ez so yeah gonna hope that it had a good setup when you bought the car or something
Edit: whoops forgot bov + wastegate... you can get a used dsm bov for $20 and then not sure on the wastegate.. probably gonna go with a tial that suites the manifold. probably shouldnt be too much
but yeah there you go
prices maybe be a bit off, but lmk

on a further note you could do some other stuff to the engine if its not gonna cost you alot and/or you got connections.
like port/polish everything..
disassemble the engine, and have the block tanked, decked, bored, honed, etc
have stuff like the rods cleaned, shot peened, etc
crank cleaned,polished,balanced
get all new bearings,seals,gaskets, etc
Get some new forged pistons, new piston rings, and wrist pins
along with the port/polish, get a valve job, new valve seats and ofc valves, valve springs, and retainers

but you would definably go over ya budget
