Labors up here make 24$ at max . They start at 15 but we don't use them. We're all masons. We just do what needs to be done ourselves. Max for me is 28$ an hr( not as much as some guys on here but it works for me, once the wife finishes school we should be perfect ) . But down in Detroit area max is 33 I think. It's a great job. Outside all day. Just have to have a nest egg by the time December comes . I'm at 24$.!an hr now but I should be max this year . The non union guys around here get paid about 10 an hr though . Competition is tough for work since they are way cheaper but it just means we have to work harder , we pride ourselves on that part

Also I get to see some pretty awesome  views from a hundred + ft up in the air.

To my knowledge we dont have a masons union of any size down here.

I make $29.97/hr which is a damn good living down here. To keep the same standard of living I'd have to make 110k/yr to live in chicago for instance. I work in a large non-union chemical plant. They tried unionizing about 20yrs ago and it failed miserably.

Ya if anything Colorado is looking like the state for me. I love California but the cost of living combined with the laws and people here are ridiculous. I was thinking Arizona but dont want to deal with the heat or the tweakers lol

Edit- Thankfully with my industry I could work from pretty much anywhere with a good internet connection ;P
