Derale 14" Tornado cooling fan

1350 CFM 10.5 amp draw

That's all said and good, except I have to trim the bottom of the fan shroud to make it fit my radiator......

I figured this was going to be easy, but like most things on this car, it will take "a slight modification" to make it work.

Fitment is soooo close......Haha

More to come....

Eh..... I figured it out.

All it took was a slight modification.

B)

Just enough room to slip the alternator belt through. Perfect.

Surprising how much a Labatts will disarm a situation.

Cheers!

...You're telling me......

Intercooler piping mock up.

This is hopefully the LAST time I mock the intercooler piping up before I powdercoat and final assembly takes place.

I'll gladly be done fighting with those damn silicone couplers!
Finished up the intercooler brackets, bolted it in place. Sits pretty level, I'm happy with it. Solid too.

And here is the amount of clearance between the intercooler piping and the fan shroud. Haha.

Also, I am waiting on one last piece of intercooler piping (to replace the black piece nearest to the turbo) So that's why the fitment may appear slightly 'off' as it is not 100% assembled yet.

Powder and more stuff arrive this week, hopefully.

Are you not worried about them possibly contacting when driving? I get a lot of play in my motor/tranny mounts under hard acceleration. Not sure if you'll have the same problem, just seems really close. lol

Haha yeah, I thought about any movement. The piping can come back around half an inch more or so. When I get my last piece of piping in the mail, I have to cut it to pull the front sections back that small amount, to assume for movement. In the picture it is the closest it will ever be, because there is nothing really holding it in place.

It would have helped if I had posted this picture earlier, haha, but jsp and it's 3 picture per post limit. I usually try to keep it to one post.

But either way, it appears that there is actually nothing that could get damaged anyway if anything did touch.

If anything you would just get a buzz or something from the parts touching. Was just wondering.
Turning out great. Makes me want to buy one. lol

Do it!

The more of these things either

a. Brought back to life

or

b. Driving on the road

the better!

Update:

last piece of intercooler piping arrived, so I cut it to size, and everything seems to fit really well. I'm pleased, considering the ridiculous amount of fighting I had to do with the couplers.

Next step is powdercoat (and welding the bung/bov flange in place)

I'm picking up a toaster oven tomorrow or the next day, and the powder should arrive around that same time. Can't wait!

I feel like a crack head at this point. I NEED to hear this thing run. If I don't hear it soon I might start shaking and scratching.
Help a brotha out mayne!
