ive never really had that issue because i run race gas and methonal, and you can tell real quick

water= blue jug
gas=red jug
methonal= white jug
diesel=yellow jug


not as stupid as putting 2 different octanes in the same color jug and using the wrong one and tearing your motor up :P

ya i thought those color jugs was the standard for everyone

i got a green on i keep mixed in, but hell i run mixed through everything ^^

definitely seems like pre detonation to me, melted the piston a little

Maybe too much timing or too low octane

i wish i still had pics from the brodix heads i fixed for the 496, we bought a set of bb2s from a 632 racer that had been blown up (some how a 3/8 bolt got under the valve, destroyed the motor and melted the combustion chamber) obviously the valves were junk too lol


Had 3/8 bolt thread stamped all over the place where the valve grabbed it, seats even took alittle of it
