Took my car to a shop to get some quotes for installation and a tune.

Typically how much would someone be paying on installation for an intake, full exhaust, intercooler with upper and lower piping, BOV, access port and a tune?

Buy the accessport, new or used. Used should go around 2-300$ for a v2.
Make an appointment with your tuner
Install your exhaust, intake and intercooler yourself.
Put an ots map until your appointment, and dont drive it hard because OTS maps are garbage.

Get the tune, and that's it.

You're in Cali, what shop are you going to?

I got a quote from FF tec in Hayward. My buddy referred me to them and they have some really goos reviews but they want around 1200 to do everything which is ridiculous lol.

You can for sure install the exhaust/inter cooler/bov/etc (I forgot what all you bought and I'm on my phone lol) yourself or buy a 12 pack for a buddy. There's probably a million videos on YouTube. Call and ask how much it is for just a tune and see how much you'd save

like 500 too much I would say, 300 or so for install of those parts as long as there is no cutting etc, and 400 for the tune. I would put those parts on yourself though they aren't hard with just basic tools and a jack, working on your own car offers a bigger sense of accomplishment in the end.

If your like me, not really good with mechanics, install yourself the BOV, Intake and FMIC. Then get a quote for exhaust + tune.

Anyway, really nice car. My buddy as a evo X on bags, shit looks amazing.

Dont go to fftech. Ive heard many stories including from friends where they fucked them over. They didn't even tune my friends evo9 because of some small issue.

Mike at GST is great. Im not sure if he turned into a subaru only guy, but he use to work on a lot of Evos. call him and see if he still does evos

EQ tuning does some decent tunes, but i think Snail performance does better work. Again, i think snail is subaru only, not sure though.

Ah now i remember, Bains tuning in the bay area, i think he's your best bet for the Evo X

Yeah, I don't mind doing the work myself I'm just so busy to where I don't mind paying a few bucks to have it done.

When Mike calls to make the appointment I'll see what I can haggle down to otherwise I'll pick up the hardware and do it myself.

Where are you located btw?
