So i saved a buddy yesturday he was stuck on the interstate in his tbss, just had the tranny rebuilt and the shop didnt tighten the cooler lines (wtf?) his truck dumped about 4.5 of the 5 qt capacity, and it ended up being fine.

ended up with a fat self tapper screw in my tire, just my luck, and then i ''Accidentally'' did a big burnout and had to put on the spair :)

Omw now to pickup a new tire, kinda glad i didnt sell my other truck yet lol

purchased flanges today, and borrowed a cylinder head from my buddies machine shop, will be fabricating the manifold in the next week or two, providing i have time

Ive decided on fabricating a custom "log" manifold similar to some of the 2000$ kits, think it should work very nicely, heres a few pics of what im designing off of, i will be using a similar crossover and stock drivers side manifold, wg dump will not feed pack into the down pipe, it wil dump out the fenderwell or str8 down through the engine bay, also will be redesigning the crossover with one flex pipe rather then two, also ive decided to stay away from e85 and run i/c for safety reasons (i don't have hptuners and i cant exactly detune the car if ethanol content isn't high enough) so to be on the safe side, we're going o tune on 93, Think ive talked myself into one of the smaller s400 turbos by bw, but going to talk to the shop that will be tuning the truck and pick their brain

- again we will be running i/c so it would be clocked down, fed to the i/c and routed up the drivers side to the tb so ignore the non i/c intake settup this isn't my truck

Ethanol content is easily tested at the pump. Look at the octane rating of E50 vs E85 vs E100. You will be surprised. It is almost impossible to detonate on E50 or above and the lower alcohol ratios have better cold start and burn properties. It's clearly not a max effort build so find timing for peak power and take 4 or 5 degrees back out of it and you should be good to go. The lower the alcohol content of what you pump the richer your mixture will be. You can also make use of a flex fuel sensor and let the PCM compensate. Higher E ratios also cause issues with injector tip clogging as well. If it were me, I'd buy a cheap test kit and blend it to E50 at the pump. You will have better fuel mileage, better cold starts, more consistent octane, cleaner injectors, and a faster traveling flame front. You will also need about 1/3rd the fuel of straight E85 so you won't need as big of a fuel pump or injectors.

I think ive decided for now to tune on 93, i/c kits are cheap enough and on long hauls with the race car i dont want to ever have problems finding fuel (not that its a problem everywhere but it can be)

I may later on consider it, but ive decided since ill have to spend money on injectors and fuel pump that ill buy a little extra, figure 450lph pump and 80# injectors should suite me just fine (and probably all the way through to 800ish hp)

If you go pump gas buy an alkycontrol dual nozzle kit in the beginning or you will hate yourself.

i was definitely considering meth injection to reduce detonation ect

like I said I'm still probably going to end up swapping a larger motor in, either 5.3 or 6.0 and likely the 4l80 swap aswell (oh how my pockets hate me)

I found a local puller with complete 6.0 & 4l80 and offered on it, they are going to lmk if the customer will accept, I offered 1400$ on the complete setup, motor, trans ecm and harness so hopefully ill get that setup to rebuild for future use (and more powah)

04 engine had the less desirable rods, so its really a matter of time I am told until it does go so might aswell be ready

but who knows, I'm looking at a 6.0 2500 right now I can buy for 3500 comes with a programmer, its in similar condition to mine but missing center seat, few more miles and needs valve stem seals but it is a 6.0 4l80 already :o

and I'm fairly confident I could get 4k for my truck as it sits easily

That 2500 is a lot heavier. The Gen 3 rods are weaker but RPM kills rods, not hp. Keep the RPM low (under 6k) and it will live. As far as 93 goes... With 16lbs of boost on my 408 I am running 23 degrees of timing with no knock spraying 2 15gph meth nozzles at 60% from 2psi up. Without meth I have to pull the timing down to 10 degrees. That's about a 200whp difference and the car feels like a slug until 5krpm when the boost really comes in. I would not contemplate running pump gas without meth as you are leaving a huge amount of power on the table. You might as well stay N/A if you are going to do that.

I'm running this kit with the dual nozzle upgrade

They will build you a kit for your application so you don't have to modify it and fuck it up.
