Thanks lol, there won't be any turbo shot for the first trip, there's just not enough time and this isn't a 1 time use deal, there will be progress every once and a while, but it's not any ones main priority lol

I am excited tho

At the beginning of the day it ran, and at the end of the day...

For those of you following along at home, on Sunday we started tearing into this thing. My buddy and I drove it around a bit, it seems to run pretty well, even did a little one legger. Motor runs OK and trans shifts half-way decently. Hopefully with a little TLC we'll have the thing running strong!

We started the day under the hood... It has a new looking radiator so that was a nice surprise. Smog pump and AC systems are gone to clear up some room under the hood. The alternator was shot so its been removed, waiting for a replacement. The bracket that holds it on though has 2 bolts broke off in the head from whoever was in there last so that sucks, we'll have to get those out. We changed the oil and removed the stock beat-up-and-leaking oil cooler and spun on a new filter. I also put in a T-bird fan that I've had lying around, its on a simple low-off-high 3 way switch with no regards for engine temp. For this trip engine plans are sixlitre tune up, new air filter and cut the exhaust off behind the cat to make some better vroom vroom noises.

As the picture shows, the interior was stripped of all unnecessary dead weight: carpet, plastics, headliner, etc. Right now its cheaper to remove weight than add HP

Additional weight savings came from removing the spare tire and swing out rack and we also plan to remove the rear bumper.

In rear-end news, we welded the 8.8 so we'll have some traction at Pismo. It has auto hubs so we really need to get some manual hubs on it because its highly unlikely the autos work. Hopefully check the wheel bearings and seals while we have the hubs apart. A trans cooler has been donated which really should find its way onto the truck so we don't grenade the C6 the first time out. It also needs tires which I think I may have a line on.

Last plans are to just check fluids, give it a nut-and-bolt once over and go!

After we get back well take a look at it and see what we want to do next, if anything.

or i would use some general's they are great in the sand

but what i probably will end up using are just some cheap a/t's or something similar

my uncle has a set of these for 80$

goodyear rt/s 31x10.5x15 he says they are at like 65% tred

The coil was in real nice shape, I can't believe the truck ran as well as it did!

I replaced the spark plugs. 2 were loose and nasty from fuel and what not blowing by the threads. None of them looked good. Put in some new cheapo autolite coppers with a gap of .055, stock is .047. Step 1 of the sixlitre tune up. Then put in MSD coil (it was on sale on Summit for $45!), 9mm wires a new cap and rotor and boosh, donesies. Plus 5 HP for the ford racing blue wires.

Then I plumbed up a cooler I had from my automatic days
