I think people overreacted. Its not rare that a tech takes a vehicle home to help diagnose problems that dont occur in 5-10 minutes of driving. Especially CEL problems.
And its not like the tech was ken blocking it and drifted into a tree, the dude just hit a deer...
Only thing I disagreed with was the fact that the dealership wasnt covering it. At that point I just would've called Subaru of America corporate and a lawyer, not post all over Facebook and internet forums.
/e Just saw that part about the tech taking the car to class, I didnt read that in the original complaint a couple days ago. My bad.
Wasn't even the tech, it was the advisor.. An advisor with a terrible driving history, and a history of negligence...
There's something called garage keepers legal liability insurance, and thats what SHOULD cover that. I feel like the advisor was probably an excluded driver from the plan because of his record.. So the dealerships insurance wasn't going to cover it..
At that point, Subaru of America should step in and force them to fix this problem, including firing the service manager and advisor.. This story makes me lol so hard.
