Thats true. The viper and hellcat are pretty close. the viper doesn't have any speicific times released from what i've seen but there are guys running stock car stock tire cars in the low to mid 3 second range and the hellcat (Charger is around 3.6-3.8 from various tests) The 1/4 time is where the viper pulls ahead due to weight. 1,000 lbs makes a world of difference.
Depends on the driver though. In the average every day race with the douche bags that own these cars I can see a charger beating a viper simple because it has a decent automatic behind it where as the viper is still a M6 car that shifts pretty badly for a 125k+ car. (in my opinion)
Then again, dodge never was a fan of making smooth shifting manual transmissions. It still takes two men and a boy to get a G56 past the reverse gate and my challenger isn't much different.
