Ah. It's really not bad is it? It is one of the easier vehicles to do engine work on.

The first time I worked on a C5 vette everything made sense. All of the years working on Fbodies cussing engineers out wondering why this sensor or bolt was where it was... Everything is right where it needs to be in a vette engine compartment and unfortunately the Fbody deals with the outfall of that.

Engine wise it makes sense until you install 1 7/8" headers (C5). Then the lack of firewall to intake clearance is readily apparent. The instructions on the kooks headers says to jack the back of the engine up until you hear the fiberglass in the firewall start to crack and pop, then the header should drop in place. The A/C line is a bit of a bitch too but nothing like an F-body. I haven't done any extensive work on a C6. A few catbacks and a set of 1 3/4" headers, shifter, etc.

hardest part about doing a shifter in a C6 is getting the center consul to go back together ffs i hate doing that. me and a friend fought his C5 build the whole way did a ls2 swap with an ls3 top end on his 99frc the headers were a fucking pain.
