KBB says my car is worth 2000 in perfect condition and Farmer's valued it at 3100. I was also told by Farmer's that it's a third party company that determines the value of the car based on similar cars being sold around my area so its not a bias opinion. I don't know if other insurance companies do the same thing but that's their process.
That is what most of them do. When I got rear ended in my 09 Focus they gave me a fair price based on what others around me sold for. Only thing I didn't like about the process is how quick they cut me a check and sent me on my way. They only covered like 4 days in my rental before they cut me a check for the car and if I wanted the rental I would have to start paying for it. I ended up having to buy a car quicker then I wanted to because I didn't want to pay $20 a day or w/e for the rental.
