If you're just gonna blow it up might as well reach its somewhat full potential so its at least fun...

If not, its going to feel like a stock WRX with a boost leak.

Or maybe you're just extremely subpar when it comes to tuning. Every street tuner around here charges those prices I posted, and that even comes with anti lag 2 step which requires dealers licenses.

No i'm pretty decent for a hobbyist. I have high standards. The perfect tune makes max power and drives as close to stock as physically possible. That takes time unless the car is barely modded. I don't work at McDonald's. As such my time is worth money. 3-4 hrs at $60/hr + the required licenses is pretty much the minimum. That's $280-$340 and that is an N/A car. Custom OS licenses for a 2 Bar or 3 Bar tune are another $100. It's also going to take more time.

In the professional world LSX tunes start at $500 for a good tuner. Stroker motors with aggressive cam setups will be more. Boosted tunes start at $800. The mustang world is pretty much the same.

Either more work is required or the ecu is more complex. There has to be a reason for the price difference.

Good thing this isnt the LSX world. This is the honda world.

Which was my reason for saying the tuning/ecu must be simpler. That or the tuners/car owners are poorer. Or both. Either way there is a reason. When you learn to tune you can talk like you know what is involved. Until then don't even pretend.

Example: Adjusting things for max power takes about 30 minutes and is the easiest part. Any monkey can do that. The drivability part of a street tune is the hard part that takes time.

Wasn't that what i said originally? And you implied i was not good at tuning if it took me so long that i needed to charge more?

In this case simpler isn't better though. The more parameters you can change the fewer your limitations.
