im glad to be, it shows that i have the intelligence to acquire an mos that isnt anything more than cannon fodder lol

15b helo powerplant repair is one of the highest mos's to get into due to the scores you need to even be in it.

if it wasnt for me and the other 15b's, the army would be hardpressed doing anything because helicopters are the main force for transport and attack. without guys to ensure the saftey and reliability of the helo engines, the grunts would be dead in the water.

What Are the Initial Requirements for an Aircraft Powerplant Repairer?

In addition to basic Army enlistment requirements, you must have excellent physical strength. You must take and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery with a minimum mechanical maintenance score of 104. Normal color vision is essential, and you must not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
What Training Is Required for an Aircraft Powerplant Repairer?

Before any advanced training, you undergo 10 weeks of basic combat training. Next, you receive 18 weeks of advanced individual instruction, which includes field instruction. You learn important skills during this time, such as hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems repair.

what your mos is isnt entirely what you do if you pursue other things like the special operations aviation stuff (airborne/ranger/etc)

you arnt limited to just one thing in the army.

edit- you can re-class entirely actually

alot of my friends started as one thing and re-classed to stuff completely opposite. Like one of my high school friends went in for artillary, and ended up reclassing to a 15 class sparkchaser ( cant remember the letter designation but it was helicopter electrical)

And you were barely in the army if i remember correctly. Darkbydesign sherlocked you. You had the wrong combat uniform and based on your age you were only in long enough to go through the training you claim to have. There was no time left for active duty service.

when i was in ait is when they were starting to phase out the bdu's for the new acu's, i retained my bdu's / was the last or second last "class" to get them. I went in at 17 out of high school in 05 and was discharged when i was 19 for back injury. i was done with ait for 6-7 months before the back injury and discharge.

i was in june of 05 till july of 06- got discharged day after my birthday actually lol
