Cops don't think twice about how loud a car is around here.
But, if you have loud music playing you are going to get looked at. It's a profiling thing... in the city at least. If you have the windows down, or even cracked, they can throw you a little misdemeanor ticket and use it as an excuse to ask for consent to search your vehicle. Back when I was 18 I was riding with a friend that is as white as I am in his F-150 with dark tint and 24" wheels. He had the windows cracked about 3-4" and the music up. He had the subs OFF because he didn't want to get a ticket. This black female city cop makes a U-turn and pulls us over for loud music. When she cautiously walked up to the truck she was relieved to find 2 young white guys and looked a bit disappointed. She wrote him a ticket for the music, complimented the wheels, and sent us on our merry way.
Had either of us been black they would have called the K-9 unit. It's just how things work down here. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's obvious.
