heavier so better shifting feel and more precise

Feeling more precise and actually being more precise are two totally different things

A weighted knob smooths out a notchy trans or shifter. I had one in my ranger and it made a big difference. The G56 in my Ram and both of my T56's are fine without one. The ram is stock and the T56's have SLP leather wrapped knobs. The throw is so short on them that it wouldn't make much difference.

with my urethane shifter bushings the shifting is more stiff, so the weighted knob will certainly help.

That's a 17oz shifter knob. Good to know lol, i wasn't sure what a "performance weighted shifter knob" actually weighed. Can easily make my cam knobs heavier on the next batch.

My personal favorite is actually one of my lighter knobs, it only weighed in at 8oz. I can't say the weight was what makes it my favorite but I'm definitely not complaining. I also have a homemade short throw shifter and i cut some brass stock and turned down some delrin to make my shifter bushings. It's better than stock bushings and should last forever without corrosion issues.

This one is my favorite so far.. I just sold it about a month ago to a guy who wanted it more than i did lol. he said $50, I said sold..

Then some have bearings and are more rounded, most people think they need a round shifter knob but I'll tell ya a couple guys said that to me, bought one of mine, and still use it to this day and love it, no complaints or regrets about going with a knob that isnt a ball.
