Actually people pay good money to have their cars professionally detailed and the work that is done is pretty daunting and tedious.

your doing too much work since it looks like you keep it in a garage. I go full on every ~3 months, and about every 4 weeks or so I give it a wash and use meguiars quick wax, polish up the rims and she looks as good as new again. But I don't drive it in the rain, and like yours, its black, and one rainstorm can make a beautifully shiny black car look its worst. If you live in an area with pollen, make sure to get a california duster, I'm changing my car back from yellow to black practically every day I drive it.

This is the DUMBEST statement ever. He is hardly a professional, more like a guy that was looking for a job and stumbled upon car detailing. Don't pretend it's a hard or daunting task.

DIY is good but sometimes it's too time consuming if you have to do other things, last time i detailed my car it took a whole day... i'd rather be doing other things, i don't enjoy detailing lol

Its a daily driver, I don't mind the work I just like the feel of a clean car.

I wash my car cause I like to do things myself, paying a professional makes me feel like I'm too good to do the simple things.

e/: washing a car is literally one of the most enjoyable things to me as well, so it's not a waste of time for me, I do it when I have nothing to do. My other cars I do the same, my other 2 cars are relatively new too.

get it clayed, waxed and sealed then you won't have to wash it as much
probably don't need to polish since it's still new
