Nice picture.  Myrtle beach has gone downhill in the past 6-7 years. The last time i went was mustang week 3 years ago.  Charleston on the other hand... you should go there next time. I don't know where you live but its only an hour and a half south.  It's like a different country though.

im taking my family to myrtle beach the second week of july. the wife wants to take the kids otherwise i wouldve picked somewhere else. the ocean really doesnt interest me. im making a stop in the charlotte area for one or two nascar shops on the way though lol

I like charlotte a lot. Its a very clean city. Here is my advice for taking the family to myrtle beach:

Buck up.

Pay the extra money and stay in North Myrtle. The "strip" is where all of the drunk youngins hang out. Not really a family atmosphere. North myrtle is 10-15 minutes up hwy 17. You are still close to the water parks and broadway at the beach etc. The recession hit the area hard as it relies 100% tourist revenue. It's still the best place to go on the east coast if you want to be entertained. The other places i talked about are more suited to adults or older children.

myrtle does have a really cool go kart track by planet hollywood that has 1/4 scale stock cars on a road course. 18+, every lap is timed and put on a weekly leaderboard. Bring a bunch of cash. With kids all the attractions get expensive. Upgrading to a condo or hotel room with a decent kitchen will pay for itself in a week.

we're only going to be there for a couple days. i was planning on finding a hotel away from myrtle beach where it would be cheaper. i dont mind driving an hour for a cheaper hotel i just dont want to pay some outrageous price that they probably charge close to the beach.

It's really not bad. They have more rooms than guests now. Standby.

I've stayed there before. Staff was helpful, clean, nice amenities. I would take children there. Its a good example of what north myrtle has thats $120-$150 a night. Its worth the $50 a night over a holiday inn to me. Your miles may vary.

I used to live in Myrtle Beach SC, nice little area, haven't been there in 10+ years though.

Interesting choice in color, def stands out.
I bet you can find that car at walmart in about 1/2 second. :P

Nothing wrong with an Auto imo, but damn v6? :o
