Have fun with head gaskets in those subarus and electronics in those VWs.

Theres plenty of guys around here that work on Subies for maaaaad cheap.

The guy that helped me do my first rebuild who now has that 400hp supra on stock ecu/fueling does side work on Hondas, Subies, and Toyotas only. He does HG's for days, and charges next to nothing. He doesnt have to work for a living, he's got huge trust funds just chillin. But he works his ass off for the extra money.

Okay then, unless you have some wierd situation like this worked out, be prepared to spend what the cars worth on a head gasket job as you need to legitimately pull the motor to do it.

Its not weird to find a good at home mechanic that charges next to nothing. Even for the shit I dont like to do on my car, I have a guy that has been working on Honda's for 30 years and charges me $35/hr labor with a receipt for warrantied work. You just gotta know the right people.
