Redline all day or Synchromesh....Really the only 2 choices for a manual.

Did the change yesterday, put 4.6 quarts of the synchromesh in (which apparently GM thinks is liquid gold) and took her for a short ride. From what I noticed the shifts felt cleaner I suppose you could say. After the tranny got warm it really felt great. This is also just a stock t56. Also, idk why people use the reverse switch to fill these, taking off the shifter took 30 seconds and then I just poured it in from there.

In some cars (fbody) removing the shifter is almost a guarantee of breaking the shift boot ring. The center console has to come out too. As long as the fluid change interval is I do it when the aftermarket shifter goes on and stop worrying About it

Ahh, well from what I've read around most gto guys fill through the reverse switch as well.

When I changed the fluid on my T3650 I filled it from the shifter too. It was pretty easy that way.
