a new issue has arrived this morning, the trans is slipping now in the jeep when we have the heat on, it was only 39 degrees here this morning. it drives fine without the heat on, drove fine the last 4 days but today with the heat on in it the trans is sliipping? thoughts?

That just means when you put more load on it the trans is slipping. It will more than likely need to be rebuilt pretty soon unfortunately..

I've never heard of that happening, doesn't even make sense. Do you have a trans cooler?

nope no trans cooler on it. thats why im kind of confused myself. it sat for about 2 years before i bought it. hell i drove it 200 miles this weekend and no problems at all. everything was working great on it. this morning when the wife took the boys to school it stalled out when she backed out of the driveway and went to put it in drive, she said it was slipping really bad on the way to the school and back. it doesnt do it quite as bad if the heats not on full blast. when she got home i drove it around a little and sure as shit shes slipping

Im thinking of it like this... My buddys Ford focus clutch will slip with the a/c on but you pretty much cant get it to slip without it on. The extra load is just enough to get it to slip.

If not its due to a big vacuum leak when the heat is on..

Yeah a/c is different though it runs off the crank, the heat wouldn't cause a load on the engine/tranny if anything it should help reduce engine temp.

Is there 2 lines running off your radiator to the trans? Maybe some idiot put them in reversed and the tranny is taking hot coolant and over heating.

Actually you could be on to something... The trans could actually be low on fluid or like you said an issue with the lines and when the heater gets turned on the trans gets low on fluid?

well than this is quite odd . i do have two lines going from the rad to the trans, while under there though i noticed oil all over the place, on the pan, on the trans, everywhere. checked the fluids in it and sure enough its a quart low on oil, and the trans fluid is just about empty. it has a new gasket on the trans pan, i tripple checked to make sure it was full before i drove it. heated it up let it cool checked while running ect. but it seems like im losing fluids someplace. but both oil and trans fluid? at least i know its not the head i guess. any ideas?? maybe the oil pan gasket is going out. there is a little puddle also of what im guessing is either oil or tranny fluid where the car was setting this morning before the wife drove it.
