Havent ridden a dirtbike ever, (well he ridden my 150, but he wasn't used to it.)

He is going tuesday and buying a Susuzki RM 250 2stroke dirtbike, AS HIS FIRST BIKE.

I dunno though, He said once he learns the dirbtike and gets used to it he will let me have it and get a 4 stroke. but i dunno.

He said next paycheck hes going to buy a quad..

dafuq ._.

im kinda scared to let him ride a 250 2stroke as his first bike

Why the hell wouldn't he just buy a 4 stroke in the first place then
2 strokes are fun on the track, some trails and in sand pits, but in open areas they are crap.
Not to mention mixing oil blows.
The only two stroke I'd ever buy now would be a quadzilla.

he makes it sound like hes upgrading to the 4 stroke. i prefer a 4 stroke myself but you dont buy a 2 stroke as a starter and then get a 4 stroke once you get used to it.

I dont know much about dirt bikes at all but if its just the power your worried about who cares? Ive ridden a motorcycle once for all of 5 minutes and it was pretty easy to manage even when giving it a ton of gas. It was a ~600cc.
Just because it has power doesnt mean you dont have to use it all. I guess that goes with experience though.

2 strokes are violent. They go from 15hp to 50hp in about 1000rpm.

yep that powerband sneaking up on people has given me a lot of laughs and scares.

damn near died when i first got my 250 2 stroke when i hit the power band right as i hit the ramp and i landed at the bottom of the other side lol.

Yep. 250's aren't quite as snappy as 125's as and 85's though. Watching a grown man get whooped by an 85 is hilarious.

ya it was only about 5 foot further than i was planning to go...but that 5 foot made me completely miss the down ramp lol.

ya i got beat on by my yz125 if i wasn't paying close attention. when i first started out on it i hit a jump and landed almost vertical on my back tire on the other side because of my unfamiliarity with their power bands.

once i landed..i hit the rear brake...front went down hard...i completely missed my chance to corner....lots of road rash and dirt became part of my skin.

I landed front high at durhamtown the last time I went. It was my first time out putting around on one of the woods MX tracks with my 450. I've been back on a 250f for a while. Oh shit oh fuck rear brake rear brake... it reminded me of the good old days.

What's so bad about mixing oil. Takes me about one extra minute to get some premix with my fuel.

my first bike was a kx65 when i was like 5, blew it up trying to keep up with my dads yz490 through a field. Rebuild etc, then got a kdx80 then a kx85. Snappy bike. Still have the 85 rode it the other day, snappy for a little bike my cousin who is 34 and about 250+ rode it and it was fun watching him get scared of the powerband. Those 2 strokes make little power when "Putting" around but once you get in the bandwith of RPMs, they are monsters. I loved it, but i now ride a 450 fourwheeler and i love having the power all around. personally he shouldve started on maybe a 250f or something not as "Wicked"
