Again I'd try and find something else. The transmission shouldn't have had to been rebuilt by 106k.

ive herd from several people over the years those early 2000s accords were prone to transmission problems off the line. and after you did the work they were fine. no?

/btw why dont you widen your search by say 500 mines or so? can easily make that drive there and back in a day, and might find a gem for a realistic price.....

The problem with rebuilt parts, especially on cheaper cars is you don't know what was cheaped out on. Again, with a $6000 budget he should be able to find alot better.

Oh, okay. Hey Craigslist? Yeah, I'd like to see the line-up of 2006 cars for dirt cheap. Oh what's that? You don't have any? Well that's odd, this guy on the internet said you would have some for sure.

Seriously though, you guys act like I haven't looked at literally every car within 100 miles of me. I looked at every listing on Craigslist in my price range.



I would but I'm not the one running this operation (I have no car). My very generous friend has been chauffeuring me around these past 2 weeks.

Have you tried an actual used car dealership? I can show you 4 decent gas savers on each and every lot in the county here for 4-5k.

Yeah we've been to a couple dealerships, every time we found a problem with the car the dealer wasn't telling us about. At one of the dealerships I got out and the salesman started walking up to me. Then he saw my friend in mechanic's clothes, got in one of his cars and sped off. Car had a massive oil leak.

The only used dealerships nearby are in Missouri, and I don't trust any of them.

But for what it's worth, at a dealership I think I'd get even less for my money than with one of these cars.
