If you need to tow more than 2-3k lbs you shouldnt buy a light duty truck. That said he bought the I5 which is the middle range engine. It should be fine. The colorado has a v8 option just like the dakota, only more power.

Dodge's trucks are plagued with problems. I say that and I own one.
