its loaded to 40 tons total.

its unshifting cargo load though so that makes the load almost completely irrelevant in these hard stop situations.

the situation is still you are going to run over top of a car from behind. it doesnt matter about the load shift you still have a way better chance of avoiding the collision with this system. you arent going to worry about load shifting when you are approaching a car from behind that fast and you have a split second to react.

and shifting loads depends on the load and how its loaded also. every load isnt a high risk for shifting and causing a wreck.

still though it's kind of a pointless example if you only show it under ideal conditions.

we have no idea how that truck would react with a load that shifted during that hard braking so its hard to say how useful this is in that situation.

its a step in the right direction but they are misleading people with that test either way.

YOU ARE STILL GOING TO BE IN THE EXACT SAME SITUATION ABOUT TO RUN OVER TOP A CAR!!!!!

that system gives you a way bigger advantage to avoid a disaster than by relying on human instinct alone. it doesnt matter if you are using their system or not if its a load at high risk for shifting it will shift either way. what if instead of slamming on the brakes you swerved at the last second to avoid the collision? then your load takes a real shift and rolls your semi and you crush a hell of a lot more cars. if the load is only shifting forward the biggest thing it will do is probably cause a longer stopping distance because the weight gets thrown forward and pushes you.

weight sliding forward is way better than weight going to one side thats why the number one big no no in a tractor trailer is swerving to avoid something. and there are times when swerving is the best option but not very often.

this is exactly why it probably wont work correctly with a shifting load. unless this system can account for that beforehand it will not stop a rear end collision.

swerving is bad with a trailer but thats not really the point here. does this system remove steering wheel control? because if not you can still swerve and fuck it all up.

just too many problems not addressed in this video to see it as roadworthy yet.

braking like that is a last resort. its not a sure fire way to keep from having a rear end collision. it dramatically improves your chances of avoiding a wreck.

ya either way if it even drops the truck by 10mph that could be the difference between life and death.

just wish they were a little more realistic with the testing before they released stuff about it.

Fill in the blank.

Needs new brakes every _ weeks.

Love the idea Love the concept

hate the fact that 18 wheeler are barley inspected and are things you "Just sign off on"
