i bought 20 cans of camo tan plasti dip off craigslist for 40 bucks. im just gonna waste it on the civic, if it turns out like shit i will peel it off.

It's very close to what you might need. 1 coat would be a total waste. 11 oz. per can and 20 cans = 220 oz. that's roughly 1.7 gallons.

2 1/2 gallons is the minimum i would do on a civic. Its gonna be a bitch doing it with cans as well.

If it's something like a smaller hatchback it should work, considering the significantly smaller surface area.
