If you want something nice, reliable, and mildly quick you're going to have to shell out more than 8k bro....so either suck it up and make payments on something or keep driving the dub and sock away that cash.

8k down payment isn't a lot on a new STI/WRX.

I put 15k down on my BRZ and was still paying near 300 a month.

Either save up or buy a DD.

The time will come in the future for you to buy that nice new car you wanted for awhile.

get a 97-04 buick regal gs(not ls) for 1-3000$ then a couple bolt ons and you have yourself a quick comfy commuter ( you wont get the sporty factor but it will be quick)
you can also go for the following model that have the same engine around those same years
pontiac grand prix gtp
pontiac bonneville ssei
montecarlo ss
impala ss
oldsmobile lss

Not one that I would want to daily...10k or so is not something I'd wanna spend on a 35...understandably they can be had for a deal at around that price in pretty nice shape...but alot of those cars have been beaten to shit.

you can buy a saab for 3-4k, its turbo charged, manual, cheap on insurance, 5 star crash safety rating, never stolen.

I've been debating on buying a BRZ for a while now. Getting tired of my Acura and want a new DD....The problem with the BRZ is the limited is like 30 grand when all is said and done...that's fine but I'm not spending 30k on a car that's going to leave me fucked when it snows...Living in the Northeast sucks...

Prolly just gonna pick up another 8th gen Si coupe for a daily...they're fun and nimble, obviously not fast but idc about that, neither is the BRZ. Besides, parking a BRZ downtown where I live is a big no-no.
