Yeah, saw one with an m113 sc recently. It was a monster. The 3.8sc is a direct bolt on, but I probably won't mess with that for some time, as I don't want to do it on stock internals. I had also considered the twin turbo setup I saw the other day on v6power's channel on youtube. Put out 400ish at the wheels, but I didn't much like the exhaust note.

take the whole supercharged engine not just the supercharger is wat i meant.( you would probably also need the whole engine harness + pcm from said thunderbird)
just some ideas, suspension is a great place to start for fun to drive factor, i lowered my wagon and it is fun to drive with good rubber on

Yeah, with the original motor being in such good condition I really was adamant about getting the suspension done first. Should help a ton with the brake dive, and it gets rid of the 4x4 look. I see what you mean about taking the engine and all, and that's probably what I'll do when I get around to it. I'm just not down for a motor swap until I get on firmer financial ground and get a real cherry picker. Right now we have a Massey-Fergusen with a jim pole. Not the most fun way to pull a motor. Besides, this thing's gonna have to double as a DD for awhile. I have a 4-banger 2 wheel drive 83 ranger coming in next fall for gas mileage. A buddy of mine's currently restoring it for kicks.

These came in

But I'm still waiting on the Eibach ProSystem handling kit I ordered... So the project is delayed for yet another week.

lol, not enough for a lift, which is about the only way I'd be willing to do all that suspension work myself.

neighbors 8000 lb telescopic forklift works well for my lift needs haha. put my old escort in a tree about 15 high with that thing after my buddy totaled it

Don't hate on the 3.8L. Its a very good engine. It had a good bit of giddy up in the Tbird I used to have, and the Mustang is lighter...so win. With some mods it would scream. It does lack a bit of aggressiveness though, atleast in the sound department.
I had the exhaust off the Tbird once, and it sounded like a tractor x.x

giddy up compared to a 4 cyl factory civic or what? all the ones ive saw have been slow

I didn't say it was fast. I'm saying that it has giddy up. Meaning that when you go to pass someone, or get on the interstate, etc... It has more than ample power with the added 1200 lbs you get in the Tbird. And thats a bone stock engine.
It is slower than the V8, 4.6 or 5.0, but I still prefer the 3.8. I didn't race my Tbird, and I didn't act like a jackass at redlights or in parking lots. It was a cruiser.
That said they also come supercharged, and a built version would be pretty awesome. But there are better engines for the application. As I said... it does lack aggressiveness, which is something you'd want in a track day situation.

And considering that track day situations are probably not gonna happen for this one...
