A lot of people ride 250s to college here. 60+ MPG - you cant beat it. They will do 100 on the highway and are great DD

I never rode a bike prior to buying my first 600. I was fine, you just cant be a idiot..Be mature about riding . Bike only goes as hard as you twist the thorttle..be easy with it..

250s are a joke, youll get bored of them in 2 months

this pretty much says it as far as riding a 600cc as your first bike.

as far as 250s go, they can be fun, and they're excellent starter bikes! my first bike was a ninja 250, I'm on a gsxr 750 now.

get a gsxr 600 for sure, throw a swing arm/power commander/full exhaust and take off the govenor (so it dont cut off at 160 during a chase and get caught) and you will out run 99% of things on the highway lol

edit: you prob don't want to get a bike tbh, shits too dangerous. i live in NC and rode bikes with high level riders who run from the cops, and do wheelies at 140 mph..

guys from both groups will round up like 5k cash and go to old country road and a few races and someone goes home richer..

if you got a nice car, stick to it..i've seen a lot lol, you don't want someone putting bandages all over your body from road rash, and can't take showers for weeks, and everytime you move your road rash pulls apart causing extreme pain.

i know people who have lost their leg, died, and terrible road rash...

also, make sure you don't run alone on the high way. bikers usually dont get hit when they ride in groups, i went to switch lanes and didn't even see him in my blind spot..felt so bad i almost hit him.

They can be. I loving riding a 250 on a track. When you rode a 600 for 4 years (2 on the track), and you switch to a 250, its awesome. Deff have no power though.

Im basically wide open throttle around the track on a 250, plus its so easy to lean a 250 over lol.

I do it alot with a dirtbike. I race the 250 B class in Motocross, its pretty fun riding a pitbike for a day or a 125, cause once you get pretty fast on a 250, your basically wide open on a 125/pit bike lol

That's pretty awesome, it's a real shame I don't have any tracks near me, I'd love to turn my cbr600 into a track bike. Plans for the cbr right now are to make it a naked stunt bike.
