most diesels where i live need ether to start you try starting them at -50....

An isb cummins will do it no problem if the injectors are in good shape.

im in the oil fields they dont complain about them because we never turn them off....

40 degrees is cold as fuck here.....using ether out here is not a necessity.

This is true. Guys still talk about -30 and -40 starts just with being plugged in. Idling is terrible for HPCR systems as im sure you know. I know why they do it up there though.
