Please keep us updated :D I like to see the progress, especially when you open the engine. have you got to the camshaft yet?

And I got the 3-speed off today and found a purple pressure plate :) Looks like a Zoom?

The gloves will add 5hp at the most. You're better off buying a wing for it :rofl:

Clutch off


Almost everything off


The cam that was in it had a lot of wear and looked like it was the original. So we pulled the cam out of the other 289 from a ranger and found this.

Nothing too crazy, but It was in a lot better condition.

Also replaced the (maybe) original timing chain with a dual roller timing chain from the ranger 289.


Just waiting patiently to be put back together...the other stang was getting it's floor pans painted up today.
