wait hold on, how does it mess it up?
since its illegal to be in neutral costing to a stop, i always tend to slow down -> down shift -> slow down -> down shift until i am in second gear where i just toss it into neutral there... so basically rev-matching 4-5 gears at times...

its all about timing just like upshifting

if you did it right you wouldnt fuck up your transfer case



but if you want to see what REALLY fucks up a transfer case you should have been there this weekend at cal city when this dumbass bro in his paper plate v8 tocoma 4wd decided to go run a hill

the dumbass shifted into 4wd going about 55 mph and iv never heard a truck make that loud of a noise b4, shit fell right outa the truck was funny as fuck

what happens if you need to quickly accelerate? you dont have the power there at your pedal, instead your car is going VROOOMMMMM and its staying still -.-

illegal to coast to a stop in neutral? like against the law illegal? blink.gif

didn't know that...

i take it easy on my old tranny and rarely do i ever downshift into 2nd

edit:

i usually don't put it in neutral. just push my clutch in..

but i understand where you're coming from
