I'm 6' 1" 190 pounds

size 12 boot (normally wear 12.5 skate shoe)

I ride a 156 W (the W stands for Wide, which is for boots over size 11)

The length of the board is set up for the weight of the rider.

Shorter boards, as mentioned, will be more maneuverable but they will not be as stable or forgiving (once you start jumping) on landings.

but in my opinion, the board doesn't matter nearly as much as the BOOTS. BUY NICE BOOTS...That FIT. No heel movement.

I use Thirtytwo ultralites: best boot I've used to date.

God I love snowboarding......and it's raining here....What have you guys done to me? Gah!!!

the board i rented was 160. It was pretty easy to do carves and s turns but felt like i was working it more than i should have.

Wide is relative to the size of the board. With a size 12 boot on a 156 you could get away without it. My 153 is regular width and I'm a size 12 as well. I'm still riding Nike zoom force 1s from their first year limited production run awhile ago. I think I'm about due for a new pair, but I really like them.

I completely threw out my shoulder last time I went a few weeks ago and haven't been able to go since.

-5 F wind chill tonight. The artic air made it all the way to SW South Carolina lol. I'm glad I took tonight off back in November to watch this football game. The roads are still soaked from rain this morning so the ice should be fun for the people on summer tires with no winter driving experience.

True, and damn, that's no good...

Here's the beginning of my board. Maple, stripped into end grain pieces, going to be epoxied together and cut out on a CnC machine.

And here's my 3d model of my core profile.

Going to use some carbon/kevlar stringers. Going to be pretty cool.

Thats pretty crazy lol. I should also say that I'm running a ~25 degree stance on each binding and without that I would probably have had to have gone wide.

I have 3 pairs of ultralights from when my buddy worked for etnies, I figured when they were having a blow out sale for 100$ - his 40% discount I would never have to buy boots again lol

I don't hardly ride any more but they are nice to have
