Wait till the V8 Genesis hits the market. Sounds like it has great potential to rape the BRZ (and a whole lot of other cars).
Plus I've seen several of them that looks pretty stylish.
The real disappointment with the brz is its crappy power, but from a flat 4 its expected.

And yeah, the used/custom market blows the BRZ out of the water if you're looking for performance value.

They have done a good job getting the hype going though. Its probably gonna sell decently and then they can add a turbo to up sales more in the future.

You haven't comprehended a single piece of information from this thread...

The V8 Genesis Coupe isn't even in production and with the new generation of Genesis Coupes, I would guess that even if the v8 DID happen (in America), it would be at least three years away.....

The BRZ doesn't have "crappy power" for a >2800 lb car, 200 hp isn't that bad. It may not be enough for "you" but again, this car was never about being"fast"

For the 10th time......Subaru has said they have no intention in adding a factory turbo to the BRZ.

Jesus christ. Can you not read at all?

I clearly said WHEN the genesis hits it will be impressive.
200 HP is still weak for 2800 lbs just like the 2450 lb miata isnt that impressive at 170 HP.
Typically when you advertise a car as a performance car people desire it to be a bit fast.
Low weight an high power is a great combo, just look at the 1400 lb 500 HP ariel atom. Not much can touch it but its obviously a pretty extreme example.

You get way to defensive seeing is the whole point of my last post was stating that I was disappointed with the power output.

And the only reason I even mentioned the turbo was to address the lack of power. Its pretty clear that they have set up the platform well to grow if they want, whether it be via a turbo, more displacement (which would be sick), or just some tweaking.

the v8 isn't confirmed for production....thus you have NO idea if it will hit. I am a Genesis fan and it was second runner up to the BRZ so I'm not trying to diss it.

Read the articles.....Subaru has already mentioned their plans to gain more power.

Performance isn't always about speed......And this car has never been marketed for speed.

Of course I could wish for more power....:I'm not trying to say that I am happy it doesn't have much power but I have already accepted the car for what it is and isn't and have realized that I DON'T need a speed demon for a DD.

It is true that the V8 isnt official but they have released a v8 track car I believe (or some sort of concept) last year. A V8 miata, BRZ, genesis, s2000, etc would be cool especially in the <$30k range but no one wants to produce one these days sadly.

What type of performance isnt based on speed? Acceleration is what defines a cars ability to perform.

Performance has much more categories than just speed.

Acceleration
Handling
MPG
Braking
Shifting (when applicable)
How well the driver can handle the car "driver friendly"

To me, all these have to be taken into account but it's okay if you think otherwise.

Speed, acceleration, and handling go hand in hand. Good luck having and speed without accelerating. And if you can turn without accelerating im equally as impressed.
Everyone of the categories listed is taken into account with every car ever produced, hence the field of engineering and design.
The only thing that stands out to me as far as this car goes is its acceleration in terms of handling.

they CLEARLY have their own functions......It's all about balance.

I've driven my parents murano a few times....the thing ACCELERATES FLAWLESSLY. Why? Because Nissan integrated unnoticeable shift changes.

Speed and acceleration are clearly different....

Yes, they are. But as I said, they are clearly related. As is handling.
