not everyone buys cars for the track, infact, i garuntee that most cars between 5-7 seconds never hit the track (which a lot of affordable cars fall into). Driving is something we all do. Taking it to the track is a hobby.

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand what you're saying.

And no one tests their own 0-60 time when researching cars. If the people testing it took it to a track it would give a much better representation of the vehicle's potential regardless of whether it will ever see a track again or not.

why are you trying to argue with me?

I'm not talking about people taking it to the track, i'm not talking about super enthusiasts, and i'm not talking about magazine test drivers.

I'm talking about the common driver who wants to have a little fun on the road.

And yes, there is a correlation between your 0-60 time and your 1/4 mile time, yet of course, there are many more factors that come into play for the 1/4 mile time.

I still stand by my chart whether you like it or not.

Because you misinterpreted my post. Yes there is a correlation between the times... If the 0-60 time is accurate. My whole point was it is a stupid test for a performance car of any type. You can't get an optimal time on an unprepped road. You will SPIN. That causes the time to vary a lot based on the driver. That is not an objective test. Take it to a track, do your 0-60 test there. That is consistent and accurate. The magazines and manufacturers that give you the numbers you are looking at usually don't take them to a track. That means you can throw the results out the window.

I've seen cars with a quoted 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds run it in 4.7=4.8 on a proper surface as an example. It also repeated that time over and over. Accurate and consistent.

I don't care who is looking at the information. Shitty numbers are shitty numbers. That is all.

i agree with bolded. That's why when i'm looking up numbers online, i go to several different sources to get an idea.

I would consider cars under 6 seconds to be fast, but that's just me.

There has to be some kind of grading system. For me it's:

over 8 seconds= slow
6-7.9=quick
4.5-5.9=fast
4.4 and under is very fast

I'd go with this too. And my cars slow :(
